Allen Receives 95% Votes Cast at CA Democratic Party Pre-Endorsement Conference
SANTA ROSA - Michael Allen announced today that he received 95% of the votes cast at the California Democratic Party's Pre-Endorsement Conference on Saturday. Allen received 57 votes for endorsement out of the 60 votes cast by delegates and other party leaders. Of his Democratic Primary opponents, Michael Wilson received two votes and Lee Pierce received no votes.
"I am honored to receive such wide spread support from Democratic leaders who recognize that I am the most qualified candidate to represent our values in Sacramento," said Allen. "I look forward to an official endorsement at the Convention in April and working with our party leaders to win this election on June 8th."
Eligible voters for the pre-endorsement conference include DSCC Members, regular County Central Committee Members and Designated Representatives of Chartered Clubs or Chartered Organizations (1 per 20 Democrats in each AD). A candidate must receive 70% of the valid votes cast to be recommended for endorsement. Such recommendations will go on the consent calendar to be ratified at the State Convention.
Michael Allen has received endorsements from over 400 local leaders and organizations for his campaign for the 7th Assembly District seat. As of the last filing date, Allen's campaign took in more than $108,000, more than twice as much as any of his opponents. To date, Michael Allen and his supporters have visited over 10,000 homes throughout the district, talking with voters one-on-one about the issues they are facing today - creating jobs, reforming health care, and dealing with the budget crisis.
Michael Allen is the District Director for Senator Wiggins, serving over 880,000 constituents on a variety of district issues. In addition, Michael Allen is a community organizer, attorney and former President of the North Bay Labor Council. He intends to use his experience to create jobs, the most important imperative facing the North Bay Community.

January 20, 2010 My Vision for Better, Brighter California
On Monday, we took time to reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to honor his contribution to our country.
