Santa Rosa Commissioner Resigns To Run For Assembly

SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Santa Rosa Planning Commissioner Michael Allen resigned Friday to campaign for the 7th District State Assembly seat currently held by Noreen Evans.
Evans and State Senator Patricia Wiggins are serving as Allen's campaign co-chairs. Evans, a Democrat, is running for the State Senate's 2nd District seat.
The 7th District represents parts of Napa, Solano, Sonoma counties and Santa Rosa.
Allen was appointed to the planning commission last year by Vice Mayor Gary Wysocky.
"Through my service on the planning commission, I've proven that I can be an effective advocate for Santa Rosa residents," Allen said in a statement.
"In the State Assembly, I will build upon this work and my record of accomplishment to tackle the diverse issues facing our community today," Allen said. » More

Codding Enterprises in Rohnert Park has signed a Community Benefits Agreement with the Accountable Development Coalition, a local coalition of environmental, labor and social action groups – the first such agreement negotiated north of the Golden Gate.Sonoma Mountain Village, the subject of this agreement, is a development proposed by Codding Enterprises for a 200-acre industrial site in the southeast corner of Rohnert Park. The Community Benefits Agreement includes commitments for environmental protection, good jobs and affordable housing.
