Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey Endorses Michael Allen for Assembly
Prominent Local leaders from Napa, Solano, and Sonoma also endorse
SANTA ROSA - Michael Allen announced today that Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey has endorsed his candidacy for State Assembly in the 7th District. Allen also announced endorsements from Napa County Supervisor's Keith Caldwell and Brad Wagenknecht, Solano County Supervisor Barbara Kondylis, Sonoma County Supervisors Efren Carrillo, Mike Kerns, and Shirlee Zane, and American Canyon Mayor Leon Garcia.
"Congresswoman Woolsey is an inspiration for working families in this country, and I am extremely honored by her endorsement," said Allen. "It is clear that progressive leaders throughout the North Bay are supporting my campaign because they know that I have the experience to fight for our values in the State Assembly.
Michael Allen has received endorsements from over 400 local leaders and organizations for his campaign for the 7th Assembly District seat and has the honor of having State Senator Pat Wiggins and Assemblywoman Noreen Evans serve as his campaign co-chairs. Earlier this week, Allen announced that his campaign took in more than $108,000 from 112 different donors during 2009, more than twice as much as any of his opponents have raised. To date, Michael Allen and his supporters have visited over 9,000 homes, talking with voters one-on-one about the issues they are facing today - creating jobs, reforming health care, and dealing with the budget crisis.
"As co-chair of the campaign, I am extremely proud of the successes that Michael has achieved," said Senator Wiggins. "We have been hard at work spreading the message that Michael is the leader we need in the State Assembly."
Michael Allen is the District Director for Senator Wiggins, serving over 880,000 constituents on a variety of district issues. In addition, Michael Allen is a registered nurse, a labor attorney and a former President of the North Bay Labor Council. He intends to use his experience to create jobs, the most important imperative facing the North Bay Community.

January 20, 2010 My Vision for Better, Brighter California
On Monday, we took time to reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to honor his contribution to our country.
